MICHAEL MARQUEZ ARCHITECTS
The third project in Holmby Hills for MMA, the Low
Residence is a second story addition of an existing, 3,200 SF
house built in 1949. The house sits on a gently sloping site
perched high above their street. Tom and Lori watched the
completion of the Marquez Residence just a few blocks away
and immediately picked up the phone, exercising their
general insight and amazing good taste.
The center of the original u-shaped ground floor was filled in
and the addition of the new second floor more than doubled
the size of the house. The remodel was designed to continue
the use of the traditional materials used on the original
house; red brick, white wood siding and slate roofing. The
upper floor features a luxurious Master Bedroom Suite and
an open family sitting area which spills onto a deck,
overlooking the surrounding neighborhood and the Getty
Center Museum off in the distance.
